Wearable, unobtrusive and hands-free the D3M continuously scans for radiation. The high sensitivity dual Gamma and Neutron detector enables the detection of shielded fissile or special nuclear materials (SNM).

Ultra-low False Alarm Rate

The D3M with its industry-leading ultra-low false alarm rate, more than six times better than the ANSI standard, means less time wasted with nuisance false alarms that occur with some basic PRDs. It means the operator is able to trust the information the device is giving them because an alert is more likely to be the real thing.

Networkable

The D3M is also compatible with DARPA’s SIGMA Network when paired with a specialised app on an Android phone. Using SIGMA’s web-based user interface, multiple units can be easily tracked, displaying threats at multiple locations in real-time on the map of a specific area at a remote and centralised location allowing analysis by experts trained in radionuclide identification.

Saved Spectral Data

The D3M can be connected to a computer via USB or Bluetooth for data extraction using Kromek’s CIRIS software. Internal memory within the D3M detector means a snapshot of spectral data can be saved every second if this mode is enabled. The data can also be used for dose reconstruction, showing dose over time and accumulated dose.

The D3M is a concealable Gamma and Neutron PRD.

This small detector is wearable, unobtrusive, and hands-free while continuously scanning for radiation.

The device is a powerful combination of two of Kromek’s award-winning leading technologies; the non-3He compact thermal Neutron detector and the world leading Gamma detector.

The D3M offers superior sensitivity and with high dose capability it is better able to detect threats with minimal false alarms faster than standard PRDs.
